Mu-Lyin

Disney was about to make a Mulan live action movie with a white male lead. This news angered many people since the main focus of Mulan has always been a Chinese female who disguises herself as a man to save China. The alleged first draft mentioned a European trader who comes to China and falls in love with Mulan while protecting her and saving her empire, but Disney now mentioned that this draft will not be any part of the live action film. They stated that they will keep Mulan as the main character as well as include an all Asian cast. This big statement relieved many people's worries about Disney casting white actors to play Chinese roles.

  1. This is a very well written, objective post. I think that people shouldn't prohibit Disney from the direction they want to go in.

  2. This was well written and gave the key points that was necessary. I was shocked after I read this because Mulan is one of my favorite movies and I don't want them to change it up, especially not by having a white guy play the asian guy's role.
